Credits & Billing Terms

Effective 13 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-13

Atrovia bills in two ways: seats, charged monthly per person, and credits, bought in advance and spent when you send a text or make a call. This page explains exactly how both work, what happens to unused credits, and when money comes back.

1. What a credit is

1 credit = 1 text message or 1 call-minute. Credits are shared across your whole company — they belong to the business, not to a person or a seat. Adding a user does not add credits.

Credits are a prepaid usage balance, not money

A credit is a prepaid right to use a feature. It is not currency, not a stored-value account, not a gift card, and has no cash value. Credits cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred to another account, sold, or used outside Atrovia.

Two kinds of credits

KindWhere it comes fromExpires?
IncludedYour monthly allowance, granted at the start of each billing periodYes — unused included credits expire at the end of the period they were granted in. They do not roll over.
PurchasedA credit pack you boughtNo — purchased credits never expire while your account is open.

Your balance shows both together. Included credits are always spent first, so you never lose an expiring credit while a purchased one sits unused. That ordering is deliberate and it is always in your favour.

2. Buying credits

Credit packs are shown in the App Store with their price and size. Larger packs cost less per credit; the price shown at checkout is what you pay.

Three ways to buy:

Automatic top-up — read this before switching it on

When you enable Every month or When I run low, you are authorising us to charge your payment method without asking you again each time.

You set the pack size and, for low-balance top-up, the trigger threshold. We cap automatic top-ups at three per calendar month and email you on every one, so a runaway sequence or a misconfigured campaign cannot quietly drain your card. If you hit the cap, we tell you and stop.

Turn either off at any time in the App Store. It takes effect immediately.

3. How credits are spent

A message a carrier blocks or filters still costs a credit. We hand it to the carrier and the carrier decides. This is why accurate 10DLC registration matters — see the Acceptable Use Policy — and it is also why we show delivery status rather than assuming a send is a receipt.

We do not charge for a message our own system fails to hand over. If our infrastructure drops it, we return the credit.

Free allowances, where offered, are shown in the App Store and are used before anything else.

4. Expiry and what happens on cancellation

If you're stepping away temporarily and want your balance preserved, email admin@atrovia.co before you cancel and we'll tell you your options. We would rather hold a balance for a returning customer than pocket it.

5. Seats

Every person who uses Atrovia needs a seat, billed monthly per user. Seats come in access levels (Basic, Pro and Executive) shown in the App Store, and every one is $20/month.

6. Add-ons

Some capabilities are included with your plan; others are add-ons with their own monthly price, shown in the App Store. Add-ons renew monthly with your subscription and can be turned off at any time, effective at the next renewal.

Some add-ons connect to third-party services that bill you separately, on your own account with them. What you pay those providers is between you and them, and it is not part of your Atrovia invoice. See the Add-on & Marketplace Terms before enabling one.

Features marked Soon are not yet available, are not being sold, and no date is promised.

7. Payment, failures and suspension

8. Price changes

We may change subscription and add-on prices for a future renewal period with at least 30 days' notice by email before the renewal date. If you don't accept a change, cancel before that renewal and you won't be charged the new rate.

Credit pack prices can change at any time, because a credit pack is a one-off purchase rather than a renewing commitment. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, and a change never affects credits you already bought.

9. Taxes

Prices exclude sales, use, VAT, GST and similar taxes. You're responsible for those; we're responsible for taxes on our own income. Where we're required to collect tax, it's added at checkout and shown separately.

Tax treatment of software subscriptions is changing in several US states, California included. If a change means we must start collecting tax on your subscription, we'll tell you before it appears on an invoice rather than letting you discover it.

10. Billing errors and disputes

If something looks wrong on an invoice, email admin@atrovia.co within 60 days of the charge and we'll investigate. If we billed you in error we correct it and refund the difference — that's not a concession, it's just the right answer.

Please come to us before your bank. A chargeback freezes the account automatically while it's processed, which usually hurts you more than the disputed amount. Almost every billing dispute we've seen is a misunderstanding that takes one email to resolve.
